Civic engagement 4.0 is convened by a group of concerned individuals from various geographical, professional, cultural, and disciplinary backgrounds who are experienced in civic engagement and working toward a more sustainable society. Convenors do not necessarily represent the institution they are based at or come from, and convenors were not selected based on any category of representation.

Penchom Saetang is the Founding Executive Director, Ecological Alert and Recovery–Thailand (EARTH), a non-profit foundation focused on health & environment, industrial pollution & impact, social and environmental justice and chemical safety issues.

Toshiyuki Doi (Toshi) is currently Academic Advisor with the Institute of Asian Studies (IAS) at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He is also Senior Advisor with Tokyo-based NGO Mekong Watch.

Ahmad Rifai is the Co-founder and Executive Director of Kota Kita, an Indonesian non-government organization that addresses urban issues through improved planning, and the involvement of citizens in processes of understanding and intervening in the city.
Dicky Sofjan, Ph.D. is a Core Doctoral Faculty in ICRS, based in the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). His interests include religion and politics, religious literacy, international affairs, human dignity, ethics and sustainability.

Elodie Jacquet is the Manager of Knowledge and Practice at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue at Simon Fraser University. She has been working with the Centre and other clients from all levels of government on a variety of dialogue and civic engagement processes for the past 15 years.

Mochamad Indrawan is a trained ecologist and conservation biologist with more than 3 decades of field experiences. Indrawan’s voluntary rainforest conservation work since 2007 included continuous facilitation of indigenous peoples and local communities whose joint endeavor is focused on the establishment of community conservation areas.

Theodore Mayer is Academic Director of the Institute for Transformative Learning of the Bangkok-based International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB). He designed and directs the SENS (School of English for Engaged Social Service) and 3OM (One-On-One Mentoring) programs.

With a PhD in Public Policy from the Australian National University, he specialises in sustainable development solutions with work spanning areas such as green economy and natural resources governance.
