The autumn 2022 Advancing the Field of Climate Engagement Working Session

The autumn 2022 Advancing the Field of Climate Engagement Working Session is hosted by the International Climate Engagement Network at Simon Fraser University’s Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialogue.

This online event will bring together a select group of learning communities, innovators and influencers working internationally to increase the scale and quality of how governments engage communities in the face of accelerating climate change. This work is motivated by a shared belief that engaged (and well-informed?) communities are crucial to sustain climate action, built resilience against anti-democratic populism as climate disruptions increase, and centre the voices of those communities most impacted by climate events.
At this event, you will:

• Explore geopolitical trends and their implications for environmental democracy in the leadup to COP27.
• Learn about the plans of peer organizations and share your own success stories.
• Identify critical threats to effective and legitimate deliberative or participatory processes
• Identify opportunities for increasing our collective impact in the climate engagement field.
