Dr Hezri Adnan is the Executive Director of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER), a premier think tank. With a PhD in Public Policy from the Australian National University, he specialises in sustainable development solutions with work spanning areas such as green economy and natural resources governance.

From 2015 to 2018, Hezri served as a Member of the United Nations’ International Resource Panel (IRP), a UN Environment Programme expert body that focuses on strategic natural resources. He is also a former Chief Executive Officer of the Langkawi Development Authority or LADA, a statutory body under Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance.
